STORES CLERK
A Stores clerk typically works in a warehouse environment and is responsible for tracking inventory levels, handling all aspects of shipping, receiving, and keeping accurate records. Their duties include organizing inventory for new orders, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damages to inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and process product orders including receipt, returns, and damaged claims.
- Promptly unloads deliveries to sorts, verify, label, stock warehouse inventory.
- Receiving, stocking, and issuing to fulfilling open orders
- Pulling, packing, and loading of heavy materials
- Collaborates and communicates with clients, contractors, customer service representatives, service providers, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Maintains a clean, neat, and member-ready area.
- Maintains an accurate log sheet of daily moves, inventory, and counting accurately.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems
- Trouble shoots shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them
- Completes all necessary paperwork requirements for all roles, and file accordingly per department procedure.
- Utilizes mainframe SAP computer terminal to properly account for issues, returns, receipts of new materials and associated back orders; inputs essential data on all materials handled; adheres to strict accounting procedures in this regard.
- Conducts daily cycle counts of inventory materials based upon plant stock unrestricted use; assists in conducting complete physical inventory count annually.
- Organizes and maintains warehouse, office, and pad areas for efficient material storage and handling; maintains labeling system on each stock item.
- Operates indoor and heavy duty outdoor forklifts, and other necessary vehicles and equipment, to properly handle materials being received, issued, stocked, and picked; provide in plant departments with forklift operations as needed.
- Maintains records and coordinates the periodic safety inspection and testing of specialized utility equipment.
- Provides radio-dispatched delivery of materials to in-field job sites.
Shipping and Receiving Qualifications/Skills:
- Forklift certified and/or experience
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery
- Strong computer skills and experience with SAP programs
- Proficient with Microsoft office and outlook
- Familiarity with radio equipment is preferred
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of time organization and urgency
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Detail-oriented and multitasking skills
- Plant/Industrial environment experience preferred
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must have a valid Texas Driver License
- Must be able to obtain OSHA Certification within three months after date of hire
- Must be able to pass a background and extensive drug test
