The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a 12 Month+ position in the Odessa, Texas area:


MAINTENANCE PLANNER
M-F / 40 HOURS + OT AS NEEDED

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews work orders for completeness / all required information (based on a good quality work order) and returns work orders to Operations Maintenance Gatekeeper if not complete. Escalates issues to the Maintenance Supervisor for chronic issues.
  • Uses, where possible, an archived plan or task list for the basis of a new actual plan. Goal is to eliminate non-value-added planning activities and ensure that job plans are not planned with unnecessary excess time.
  • Uses “quality feedback” from the person who completed the work to optimize archived plans. Seeks approval from the Maintenance Supervisor before changing numbers of crafts and job duration.
  • Provides feedback to the person who supplied the Planner Feedback Form on how the information was used (updates, communication, etc.). This includes decisions not to make changes.
  • Carries out field checks when needed to verify job plan.
  • Prepares job plan and inputs plan into the CMMS indicating the required resources, materials, and services.
  • Ensures all information required to safely and efficiently complete the work is associated with the work order prior to the work order being scheduled
  • Works with the Material Coordinator after material availability has been confirmed to validate that the work order status is ‘ready to ‘schedule’.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues to determine appropriate repair solution
  • Identifies task activities necessary to execute a job plan safely, efficiently, and effectively.
  • Identifies resources, materials, tools, and equipment required to perform tasks.
  • Identifies / solicits safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
  • Records tasks / information within the work order.
  • Notifies other crafts of their requirement to provide input to the job plan.
  • Updates and archives repetitive job plans
  • Validates good data before saving.
  • Consider constructability and maintainability when developing plans.
  • Considers material costs when selecting materials from specifications.
  • Utilizes “Best Practices” where applicable during the planning process.
  • Uses Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) when necessary while building proactive repair plans to support Reliability.
  • Reviews backlog daily for key actions
  • Looks for long delivery items to inform Material Coordinator
  • Normal jobs to plan
  • Attends Planner-required meetings.
  • Maintains discipline to the Work Execution Management (WEM) process
  • Adhere to all plant safety policies and procedures
  • Engage in the Plant’s Continuous Improvement Culture and Program

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Maintenance Planner or relative equivalent experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge and understanding of construction and operation of typical process equipment, such as:
    • Pumps
    • Control and manual valves
    • Instrumentation
    • Heat Exchangers
    • Motors
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and process issues
  • Experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
    • MaintainX preferred

Physical Demands:

  • May be required to Lift/Push/Pull/Carry up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and perform repetitive physical activities throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
  • Role is deemed safety-sensitive and may be subject to employer or customer drug testing.

Work Environment:

  • Some work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.
  • Work is normally executed in an office equipped with a telephone and computer.
  • Work will be in a plant environment. This will require frequent visits to the plant with a variety of weather and temperature conditions.

Location Information:

  • This will be a local position at the Odessa, TX plant.
  • Day shift
