Manufacturing Maintenance Manager
(Relocation package offered for qualified candidates)

Position Overview:

The Manufacturing Maintenance Manager is responsible for the functional performance of plant equipment. They will solve difficult engineering problems by understanding the equipment design and the science of the processes, and work to improve the reliability of plant equipment by collaborating with the Department Manager (operations) and the assigned Process Engineer.

 

Critical Success Criteria:

  • Directs operations and maintenance on day-to-day equipment malfunction troubleshooting by providing technical expertise and delivering with engineered solutions.
  • Has the ability to manage smaller capital projects providing technical expertise, managing costs/budgets, and delivering startup support within the accepted project schedule.
  • Provides a tactical (hands on) approach to repair, replace, or redesign equipment after equipment begins failing on the P-F curve.
  • Displays an ownership of the equipment reliability within a plant area/unit.
  • Ensures long-term performance, considering safety, environmental and operational success.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Directly Supervise employees, including Electricians, Millwrights, Crane & Rigging, Pipefitters, and Welders.
  • Ability to conduct cost analysis weighing the pros/cons of various options and the impact to plant operations.
  • Accountable in the development of design and installation specifications, along with commissioning plans, for new equipment.
  • Accountable in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers.
  • Develop and lead continuous improvements for Department Safety, Quality, and Throughput from routine analysis
  • Organize and manage multiple projects & tasks to assure high quality and timely service to all internal and external customers
  • Assists in establishing and maintaining Key Performance Indicator (KPI) metrics and standards. Maintains data used in creating and updating KPI reports.
  • Provide training on new equipment installations.
  • Ensure documentation (drawings, procedures, reference files, etc) are updated based on equipment modifications or replacements.
  • Works closely with the operations manager of the specific area and the area process engineer.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited College or University
  • Three (3+) plus years of progressive experience in an engineering discipline at an industrial site or engineering consulting
  • Functioning knowledge of mechanical, instruments/controls, pneumatics, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven leadership skills to champion change in a highly dynamic environment, promote a positive team atmosphere, and sustain a continuous improvement culture
  • First-rate interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communications and conflict resolution, ensuring team cooperation
  • Strong project management skills including time management, action planning, prioritization of tasks, attention to details and meeting deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, ability to work well under pressure, and sense of urgency

 

Preferred:

  • Five (5+) plus years of progressive experience in an engineering discipline at an industrial site
  • A sound working knowledge of Reliability technologies and Reliability Centered Maintenance
  • Preferred three (3+) plus years’ experience in one of the following: Equipment/machinery design, plant engineering, reliability engineering, maintenance engineering, and/or fabrication and Equipment/machinery maintenance
  • Proficiency in using CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo)

 

Physical Work Requirements:

  • Ability to move about the plant, including climbing a flight of stairs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in a hot production area wearing protective clothing with or without reasonable accommodation
