Description
The Mundy Companies, a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a 2-3 Month turnaround position in the La Porte, TX area:
RIGGER
NCCCO/NCCER is a requirement for this position.
Successful candidates will have continuous and current experience as a Rigger in a petrochemical, industrial, or manufacturing environment. The essential job function of a rigger is to assemble rigging to lift and move various types of equipment and materials and demonstrate the ability to solve problems in rigging loads.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Selects cables, ropes, pullup, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved
- Attaches pullup and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole boom with bolts and clamps
- Attaches load with grappling devices, such as loops, wire rope, and chains to crane hook
- Gives direction to operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled
- Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches
The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required. All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
